Georgia Nubia

Georgia Nubia

I am Georgia Nubia from Macon, GA and I’ve been writing poetry since 2001 or 2002, I was in middle school when I wrote my first poem and became published that same year.

I started writing to communicate with my mother and since then, poetry and short stories have been my way to express myself.

As I got older, I started painting as well as writing to deal with depression and anger.

I moved to Charleston in 2016 to further my poetry and photography career and it’s been the best move I’ve ever made.

After moving to Charleston, S.C, I’ve published 4 poetry books (The Heart of Georgia (2019) and Complex Compositions(2020) Affirming The Beast (2021) Inside Georgia’s Dome (2022) and also a spoken word album, The Heart of Georgia (2019) and 2 Spoken Word EPs, Affirming The Beast (2020) and 7 moments (2021).

I’m the creator of C.H.A.N.G.E which means creating harmony among negros (neighbors and nations) for generations eternally and I’m working my gifts with hopes to change and continue to build unity in our communities .
